      EVENT DETAILS
Maker Faire Milwaukee Happy Hour & Food Drive

Hunger and food insecurity impacts child development, school attendance and performance, family health and much more, and the Betty Brinn Children's Museum is proud to host the inaugural Hacking Hunger MKE challenge at Maker Faire Milwaukee as part of our commitment to outreach and education programs for children and families.  We are kicking things off with a Happy Hour & Food Drive to benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin on Friday, September, 13 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Admission is free, but registration is required. Other halls will not be open during this time - we'll still be setting up - but your registration is a fast pass for Faire hours on Saturday and Sunday!  And, please note that Happy Hour is an adults-only event (18+).  Creativity and innovation around social and community issues is a hallmark of the Maker Movement. Hacking Hunger MKE is a partnership with 88Nine Labs, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, and students, programmers, marketers, entrepreneurs, designers and anyone interested in participating in the Challenge is invited to register for the event. Ideas can be anything from a business solution to a marketing campaign to an app. For more information about participating, visit: Hacking Hunger MKE. The challenge begins on Saturday morning, September 14, and teams will pitch their ideas on Sunday afternoon, September 15 at 3 pm.
