      This free event brings educational leadership teams together with literacy experts to explore the decline in American reading scores and the steps needed to develop confident and competent readers. This interactive workshop will unpack “the science of reading” and the type of instruction that supports this development. Participants will walk away with tools to determine how well your literacy approach aligns to the research. While at the event:  Hear keynote speaker Timothy Shanahan discuss the current state of American reading scores and why they aren’t higher. Examine what students need to develop as confident and competent readers. Explore what “the science of reading” really means and how it aligns with your current approach. Walk away with tools to determine how well your early literacy approach aligns to the research. Enjoy lunch and an interactive Q&A session with literacy experts.
