      The Dr. Edward D. Simmons Lecture on Society and Human Values:Dean Confidential: Reflections on the State of Higher Education Delivered by Nancy Bauer Dean of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University Where: Eisenberg Reading Room, Marquette University When: Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 3-5pm Please join the Marquette College of Arts and Sciences and the Center for the Advancement of the Humanities for the Dr. Edward D. Simmons Lecture on Society and Human Values. The Simmons Lecture featured speaker for 2019 is Dr. Nancy Bauer, Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Professor of Philosophy at Tufts University. Dean Bauer will speak on the meaning of education in our contemporary world and will consider what it means to receive an education. She will also reflect on the ways that common practices at modern universities and colleges often get in the way of realizing the value of an education.
